A Mt. Sterling man and a Camp Point man were arrested Thursday following a three-month long burglary investigation in Adams County.
Austin Welty, 20, of Mt. Sterling, and Tyler McLennan, 21, of Camp Point were arrested on two counts each of burglary, burglary to vehicle and theft.
The burglary investigation was launched by the Adams County Sheriff's Office in the Clayton and Camp Point areas.
The sheriff's office conducted an undercover purchase of a stolen item in Quincy that resulted in the search of two garages. One garage was in Camp Point and the other was in rural Brown County.
According to the sheriff's office, numerous stolen items including a stolen firearm were located in the searches.
Welty and McLennan are lodged in the Adams County Jail without bond.
