Fugate murder case to air on Discovery Channel

Sandra Fugate

The story of a Hannibal woman's murder will be told on the Discovery Channel this week.

Sandra Fugate was shot to death by her fiance, Calvin Duana Petty on April 15, 2010, just two days before their wedding. Petty was convicted of her murder two years later.

Petty's then-girlfriend, Rebecca Jeanne Kirk, was also charged with evidence tampering in connection with the murder. Investigators accuse her of trying to destroy a rifle, ammunition and clothing for Petty. Kirk is scheduled for trial in November.

The Investigation Discovery show is called Happily Never After. The episode featuring Kirk is entitled Shattered Sisterhood, and is scheduled to air Aug. 10, at 8 p.m.
