Free meals and deals for our military

It's a weekend of free meals and deals for veterans and current military members across the country.

Kroc Center

The Kroc Center opened its doors free of charge to local veterans and current military members Sunday. Patrick Johnson and his family took advantage of the free pass and set their sights on the rock climbing wall. This is his family's second time to Kroc Center thanks to the free day pass.

Johnson was a specialist in the National Guard and now serves as a Missouri State trooper and a father of three.



will honor veterans and active duty military with a free meal Sunday, Nov. 11, at Applebee's. The restaurant will offer a limited menu of dishes to choose from for their meal. The offer goes all day long.

Hy Vee

Also, Hy Vee stores throughout the Midwest will celebrate Veterans Day by offering a free breakfast to all veterans and active-duty military members on Monday, Nov. 12.

, the chain expects to serve more than 80,000 veterans and their guests this year at more than 200 Hy Vee stores in eight states.

Members of the military and their families can drop by their local Hy Vee supermarket, with in-store dining, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday.


Denny's will offer free all-you-can-eat pancakes on Veterans Day to all veterans and active duty military from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012.

Stop in from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday, Nov. 12 for your free Veterans Day lunch.
