      Four killed in crash near Carlyle Lake Illinois

      KEYESPORT, Ill. (AP) - Authorities in southern Illinois say five people who were injured after a two-vehicle fatal crash remain hospitalized.

      Four people were killed in the crash that happened just after midnight near Keyesport.

      Clinton County Sheriff Mike Kreke says three of the dead were in a sport utility vehicle with four other people.

      The fourth deceased victim was one of two passengers in a car.

      Bond County Coroner Tony Brooks says three of the victims, who were all 21, were pronounced dead on the scene.

      They were Justin Haar of Beckemeyer, Blake Thole of Aviston and Chaz Sargent of East Carondelet.

      Brooks says 21-year-old Derek Garrison of Germantown was pronounced dead later at a St. Louis-area hospital.

      Authorities offered few details of the crash.
