Fort Madison woman arrested on felony drug charge
Daphne Kay Akers of Fort Madison was arrested on Saturday on a felony drug charge.
The 38-year-old is charged with delivery of less than five grams of methamphetamine, a class C felony.
If convicted, Akers faces up to 10 years in a state correctional facility.
The arrest of Akers stems from an investigation by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force into allegations that she was involved in the distribution of illegal narcotics in the Lee County area.
A Fort Madison Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was occupied by Akers and it was discovered that Akers had a felony drug warrant.
