A former Pike County man now faces multiple felony charges after police say he tried to kidnap a Louisiana store clerk.
Scott Joseph Adams, 29, of Jefferson City was arraigned yesterday on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, attempted kidnapping and armed criminal action.
Police say Adams went into the Tobacco Plus store around 5:30 p.m. on January 20 and left without paying for an item.
Authorities say when the clerk began to question Adams, he allegedly put two handguns on the counter.
Adams eventually left after another customer came into the store.
Police were able to identify him from the store's surveillance footage.
Adams will be back in court January 29.
