      Former Bowling Green employee slams city with lawsuit

      A motion hearing for a lawsuit filed by the former Bowling Green City Treasurer is scheduled for Thursday.

      UPDATED STORY: November 25 at 9:40 a.m.

      The former Bowling Green Treasurer suing the city will have her day in court but it won't be in Pike County.

      During a court hearing yesterday the judge ordered a change of venue.

      Barb Finley's case has been sent to Marion County.

      Finley hit the City of Bowling Green with a lawsuit after she says she was abruptly fired without explanation in 2009.

      A motion hearing for a lawsuit filed by the former Bowling Green City Treasurer is scheduled for Thursday.

      Barb Finley says she was abruptly fired from her position in November 2009 without explanation.

      She claims in the lawsuit that the city did not follow its own employee guidelines.

      Mayor James Moore is one of the city officials named in the lawsuit.

      Finley worked for the city for 15 years before she was let go.
