Five suspected burglars arrested after police chase

Lamarco Taylor, 22, of St. Louis

Two men and three male teenagers face a host of charges Monday morning after a burglary and chase on Quincy's southside.

It all began around 7:30 last night when Quincy police attempted to stop a dark green Pontiac Grand Prix at 6th and Payson for failing to signal.

As the vehicle pulled over, several men jumped out and ran away.

Officers chased the suspects and saw one of them drop a gun to the ground as he ran.

The vehicle then drove away from the traffic stop, but was stopped two blocks away. Then the driver exited the vehicle and ran himself.

Eventually police caught all five and learned they were suspects in a house burglary earlier that night at 318 Maiden Lane #116 in Quincy.

The driver, Emeche Baldwin, 23, of 318 Maiden Lane #113 Quincy faces multiple charges including fleeing to elude police, no valid license, failure to signal and operating uninsured vehicle.

Lamarco Taylor, 22, of St. Louis was arrested for residential burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Both are in the Adams County Jail.

Two juveniles, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old both from St. Louis, were detained at the Adams County Juvenile Detention Center for residential burglary.
