      Five arrested on heroin charges in Hannibal

      Five suspects were arrested in Hannibal on Friday, Oct. 11.


      Five suspects were arrested in Hannibal on Friday, Oct. 11.


      The arrests were a result of investigations conducted by detectives with the Hannibal Police Department's Narcotic Investigations Unit in an effort to disrupt the supply of heroin in the city of Hannibal.


      Alvin Mayfield, 31, of Monroe City; Kazuhl Simms, 22, of Hannibal; James Ivey Jr., 32, of Hannibal; Jermale Miller, 38, of Ewing and Keith Ashford, 51, of Hannibal, were all charged with distribution, delivery, manufacturing and production of heroin and are being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond each.


      All five men are being held in the Marion County Sheriff's Department.
