Firefighters respond to two-alarm fire in Quincy

Quincy Firefighters were called to a structure fire Wednesday mornint at 519 Payson.

Quincy firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire on the city's southside Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to a structure fire around 1:30 at 519 Payson.

When they arrived heavy smoked filled the upper floors of the building.

A second fire crew was called to the scene when flames breached out of the structure's west side.

The building houses three apartments.

All residents were outside when firefighters arrived.

As of 2 a.m. the fire was under control but firefighters were still dealing with hotspots.

Investigators have been called in to determine the cause.
