Firefighters investigate vacant house fire

Quincy Firefighters say they were unable to find a cause in the early morning house fire on Quincy's North side Wednesday.

Firefighters were called to 629 Lind Street around four in the morning to calls of flames shooting from the home. When they arrived the porch was engulfed in flames.

Crews put out the blaze quickly and sifted through wreckage for the cause.

The home had no electricity at the time of the fire as it was vacant and the utilities had been turned off.

Firefighters say the tenants had been evicted one week prior.

The investigation has been turned over to the Quincy Police Department. Interviews will be conducted with former residents.
