Firefighters investigate cause of Quincy tavern fire

A Quincy tavern caught fire early Friday morning, on the southeast corner of 4th and Oak Streets.

Five fire trucks responded to Scooter's Bar where heavy smoke and flames could be scene coming from the second floor of the building from more than a block away.

Quincy police closed off streets around the tavern while firefighters fought the blaze.

Fire Chief Joe Henning says no one was inside the bar when the fire broke out around 4 a.m. The building did have running electricity. Fire investigators will remain on scene to determine the cause.
