A Bowen, Illinois home is a total loss after a Tuesday afternoon fire.
Bowen Fire Protection District Assistant Chief David Campbell said crews arrived at the scene around 1:30 p.m.
The second story of the home was completely engulfed in flames by that time.
Campbell said windy conditions caused problems in containing the fire. He also said getting water to the scene was a challenge.
A family of four lived in the house, but no one was home when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported.
Campbell was unsure what caused the fire.
Both the Augusta and West Point fire departments assisted at the scene.
