Feds get shot at Keokuk arsonist

KEOKUK, Iowa (AP) - A man accused of starting a series of fires in Keokuk now faces federal charges.

A federal grand jury in Davenport has indicted Travis Thrush, of Keokuk, on three counts of arson. He's accused of starting fires at a church and two businesses.

According to the indictment filed on Wednesday, the properties were used in interstate commerce.

Thrush also faces state charges in the series of fires from May 2008 to January. He's charged with one count of first-degree arson and six counts of second-degree arson.
