      Fatality near Nauvoo Middle School

Investigators released the name of a Nauvoo man who died Wednesday afternoon in a three-car crash in Hancock County.

Ryan Kayne Jenkins, 26, was southbound about 3:56 p.m. on Illinois Route 96 about 25 miles northwest of Carthage. Investigators said Jenkins crossed the center line and struck an oncoming truck hauling farm equipment. That truck was driven by 59-year-old Mark Turner of Nauvoo, the Illinois State Police said.

Jenkins truck then spun around and crashed head on with a grain truck driven by 61-year-old Artchie Kirby of Warsaw.

Jenkins' truck caught on fire and he died in the blaze, police said.

Kirby was taken to Fort Madison Community Hospital with serious injuries.
