One person is dead after an accident involving a SUV and a commercial truck on Highway 19 near Homestead Road in Ralls County, Mo.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the driver of the SUV, Joseph Michael Baker, 44, of Troy, Mo. died at the scene.
The call came in to the Ralls County Sheriff's office around 6 p.m. Monday.
Investigators worked on reconstructing the accident Monday night. Crews shut down Highway 19 between Highway H and Highway F for about five hours. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
The accident happened about six miles away from another head-on collision that happened Sunday, Aug. 4.
Aaron L. Smith, 26, of New London, was driving eastbound on MO 19 when he crossed the center line and struck a car driven by Katie C. Lentz, 19, of Quincy head on.
You may remember witnesses in that story describing a mysterious priest at the accident scene praying with Lentz as crews worked to free her. That mysterious priest was later identified as Rev. Patrick Dowling, a priest in the Jefferson City Diocese.
Both drivers of that accident survived.
