Farm fatality in cornfield near Palmyra

UPDATED: September 21 at 11:30 a.m.

Officials have released the name of the farm fatality that occurred Wednesday morning.

In a press release from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Gary Bradney was working in the field on a tractor trailer that was full of corn near 1300 Pocahontas.

A second employee began to drive the vehicle to a local repair shop for maintenance. The trailer rolled over Bradney killing him.

The Marion County Corner pronounced Bradney dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed Thursday morning in Columbia, Mo.

No foul play is suspected.

Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn tells KHQA that one person was killed in a farm accident just west of Palmyra.

The worker was under the truck when another worker drove off without knowing he was underneath.

The next of kin is being notified and more details will be released Wednesday afternoon.

Shinn says no fould play is suspected.


A fatal accident occurred in a cornfield on the edge of Palmyra near 1300 Pocahontas.

The incident took place just after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities with the Palmyra Police Dept. and the Marion County Sheriff's Dept. will not release any details about the incident at this time.
