Fake 911 call to cost Macomb man thousands

Alvin Montgomery, 25, of Macomb

Dialing three numbers on a phone is going to cost one man more than twelve thousand dollars.

Tri-States Public Radio

reports 25-year-old Alvin Montgomery has reached a plea deal for a 911 hoax, and will pay back the departments that responded.

Montgomery was arrested in March after Macomb police responded to a 911 call from a woman claiming a man was in her house at 509 W. Murray St. with a gun.

Neighbors evacuated their homes and police blocked a section of Murray Street for several hours during the scare. You can find the original story by clicking here.

After several hours with the house surrounded, police determined that no one was in the home.

Montgomery was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice.

Police are still looking for the female whose voice was heard in the call.
