Evaluation ordered for accused murderer

Alex Koehler, 27

A Quincy man's ability to stand trial could be determined after her undergoes a mental evaluation.

Alex Koehler, 27, faces murder charges in connection to a knife attack that happened earlier this month.

He faces two charges of first degree murder.

Koehler's defense attorney requested the evaluation.

Local psychologist Dr. Frank Froman will conduct the procedure soon, but an exact date is unknown.

Police arrested Koehler after they say he attacked 56-year-old Robert Owens with a knife.

Owens suffered a serious injury and later died at Blessing Hospital.

Koehler's next court date is August 6.
