Electric, water and sewer rates likely to rise for Hannibal residents

Hannibal residents will see utility rates go up in the coming months.

The Hannibal Board of Public Works plans to increase electric rates 3 percent and sewer and water bills by 4 percent.

This in response to EPA and Department of natural Resources mandates to improve Hannibal's sewer and water systems.

The Board also plans ask voters to approve two bonds worth 20 million dollars to meet national mandates.
