One person is dead after a car crash in Hancock County Friday morning.
The Illinois State Police said Charles De Jaynes, 77, of Dallas City was driving a semi-trailer east on Illinois Route 9 west of Hancock County Road 2650 east at 6:30 a.m. when a deer ran into the road.
De Jaynes hit the brakes to avoid the deer and skidded across the center line hitting an oncoming truck. Both vehicles left the roadway.
The driver of the oncoming truck, Dewey Eric Cramer, 36, of LaHarpe, was killed.
