Do you know anything about explosives found in Quincy?

The Quincy Police Department is asking for your help to find the person responsible for two IEDs found in city neighborhoods last week. They're asking anyone with any leads to contact investigators.

The explosives were found Sunday and Monday of last week. Click here for the original story.

One exploded prior to Monday's bombing at the Boston Marathon. It damaged a house in the 1700 block of Jackson Street. The device was made from a CO2 cartridge and a number of BBs wrapped in newspaper and duct tape.

The second was found intact on Hampshire Street. It went off shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday. It was what is commonly known as a soda bomb and did not appear to have any method for discharging shrapnel.

â??While both IEDs were small, they were capable of causing serious harm to anyone near to them at the time of their detonation,â?? a release from the department said last week.

Police are urging anyone who comes in contact with such devices to contact 911. Anyone with information about these two incidents should call QPD at 217-228-4470 or Crime Stoppers at 217-228-4474.
