The Missouri Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control is assisting the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in a death investigation.
DDCC spokesman Sgt. Kevin Hunter could not confirm whether the death is being investigated as a homicide.
"When we call it a death investigation, that means they're investigating all possible causes of death," he said. "Making any other comment at this time would undermine the investigation."
Sheriff's deputies and Highway Patrol cars converged Wednesday at a home near Olive and Main streets.
The sheriff's office referred calls to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
