Illinois Governor Pat Quin
says he will decided whether or not to sign conceal and carry legislation soon.
A federal appeals court set a deadline of July 9 to legalize carrying weapons after finding the state's ban unconstitutional.
Lawmakers asked Quinn to act quickly on the measure but to date he has given very little indication of what his decision will be.
Some gun-rights supporters say that if the Governor does not sign the bill by the July 9 deadline that it would mean that guns could be carried anywhere in the state.
Others says it would clear the way for individual municipalities to create their own carry laws.
