Citywide cleanup in Quincy is scheduled for Saturday, September 28 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year, the hours have been reduced by two hours in order to comply with new Department of Transportation guidelines for the drivers of the trucks hauling waste.
The City of Quincy offers this event to assist residents in disposing of unwanted items that are not typically collected with weekly residential service.
Allied Waste and the city want to remind residents that certain items cannot be accepted due to Federal, State or Local regulations.
Items include but are not limited to free flowing liquid, poison, yard waste, items containing Freon, batteries, medical waste, tires, creosoted treated wood, fuel tanks, electrical equipment or components like televisions and computers and any items that could injure employees or damage equipment. Click here for the complete list.
To access the disposal site at Front and Delaware Street, residents should use Payson Avenue starting at Sixth Street and head west towards Front Street.
As always, safety is the first priority, so please have patience during the unloading process.
