Curtis Lovelace sues City of Quincy and Adams County

Lovelace speaks with reporters after he was found not guilty in February

The man found not guilty of murdering his wife in Quincy more than 10 years ago now files a lawsuit against the City of Quincy and Adams County.

More than eight people are listed in that suit as well.

Last March, a Sangamon County jury found Curtis Lovelace not guilty of suffocating his wife, Cory, in 2006.

He was arrested in 2014 and spent more than two years behind bars.

The lawsuit claims the city, county and Quincy Police Department were liable in the investigation and ultimate arrest.
