      Court date set in carnival worker's death

      Jared Staake


      The man charged with killing a carnival worker at the Schuyler County fair has a court date.


      Jared Staake, 21, of Beardstown is charged in the July 2 stabbing death of Michael Box, 33, of Dyersburg, Tenn.


      Staake's preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 24.


      Box died at a Rushville hospital after an altercation near the sleeping quarters of the fairgrounds.


      Staake remains jailed on a $500,000 bond.
