The Quincy School Board is holding a special meeting Thursday night to address the latest teacher contract negotiations.

The meeting is set for 5 p.m. in the Board of Education office.

But the public won't get to hear much on the subject.

Board members are expected to immediately go into executive session to discuss contract negotiations with the Quincy Federation of Teachers.

The Quincy School Board and the teacher's union are continuing to negotiate a new contract.

Teachers are scheduled to meet Tuesday at Quincy Junior High School at 3:55 p.m. to discuss the latest proposal.

Superintendent Lonny Lemon says the district hopes to hear back from the union following that meeting.

No other talks involving the federal mediator have been scheduled.

Teachers have been working without a new contract since the last one expired in late August.
