Construction on U.S. Route 24 to wrap up soon

IDOT says the route will be closed between Illinois Rout 96 and Interstate 172 in Adams County for construction.

Motorists who travel on Illinois Highway 24 will be happy to know the road work will be finished by late next week.

Karl Kroshinsky, a construction field engineer with IDOT district 6 says the work is wrapping up on removing and replacing two culverts over the Frazier Creek Tributary and a drainage ditch.

The $685,000 project awarded to County Contractors of Quincy was started back on July 23.

The contract was part of a nearly $3 million capital investment program announced by Governor Quinn last March.
