Committee continues Adams County Jail discussion

The five member group was formed earlier this month to look at whether or not the jail needs an upgrade or new building altogether.

The new exploratory committee created to to better assess the long-term outlook of the Adams County Jail has another meeting Friday.

The five-member group was formed earlier this month to look at whether or not the jail needs an upgrade or new building altogether.

A new jail would cost anywhere from $20 to $25 million.

The failed escape of three inmates in July was motivation to create the committee.

The meeting starts at 3 p.m. at the Quincy Board of Education.
