      Clark will plead in Newcomb fire

      The man charged in the fire that destroyed a historic downtown Quincy hotel scheduled to enter a guilty plea next week.


      The man charged in the fire that destroyed a historic downtown Quincy hotel scheduled to enter a guilty plea next week.


      Mathew Clark, 24, is charged is with property damage over $100,000 and burglary in the Sept. 6 fire that destroyed the Newcomb Hotel at the intersection Fourth and Maine street.


      Clark appeared at a hearing Friday afternoon and waived his right to a trial.


      The plea hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Feb. 4 at the Adams County Courthouse.


      Clark remains in the Adams County Jail on $200,000 bond.
