A city water and sewage truck rolled over at 909 W. Lock and Dam Road in Quincy and struck a barrier just after 11 a.m. Thursday.
The driver, Richard L. Emery, 59, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Tri-Township Fire Department, according to the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
Emery was out of the vehicle by 12:10 p.m. and was taken to Blessing Hospital by ambulance for treatment to minor injuries.
The Adams County Sheriff's Department confirmed that Emery maneuvered the truck, which is owned by Environmental Management Corporation, around the curve too fast, lost control of the truck and it overturned.
Deputy Joe Lohmeyer says the truck was hauling sewage at the time it flipped over. The road was closed as workers spread dirt around the base of the truck to soak up the sewage spill.
Emery was ticketed with failure to reduce speed.
