How do you choose the right college?
It's a tough question to answer, but area high school students got some help with their decisions on Wednesday.
Illinois College Exposition hosted a college fair at Quincy University's Health & Fitness Center. More than 60 schools were represented, some from as far away as Wyoming. Area students were invited to gather information and learn about colleges they may not have previously considered.
Event organizers said around 300 students were expected to attend.
Quincy University Visit Coordinator Tammy Duesterhaus says there are a few tips that college-seekers should keep in mind: start the search early and get to know each individual school.
"I think they need to come and visit each of the campuses and see what it's like - that's one sure way to find out if they like it or not. Each school is different, whether it's a large public school or a private school, each one is different," Duesterhaus said.
If you missed out on Tuesday's expo, you can learn more about upcoming fairs at ICE's website.
Also, Quincy University will hold a campus visit day on October 19th from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Current high school juniors, seniors, and transfer students are welcome to attend. Visit Quincy University's website to sign up or learn more about the event.
