Back to school shoppers can enjoy a sales tax holiday in Missouri this weekend.
The discounts begin this Friday for shoppers on school and office supplies, personal computers and up to $100 in clothing.
One of the many hot spots to check out with the family is the Chesterfield Mall, near St. Louis. Owner Lauren Spellmeyer showcased some of the mall's biggest attractions on KHQA This Morning Tuesday including clothes from Buckle and makeup from Bare Minerals.
Spellmeyer says the mall will be completely sales tax-free this weekend on the items that apply during the holiday. Find sales and events here.
"That does help extend your dollars a little bit and it's a budget smart move. So if you're looking to save a few bucks or you want to get a few things extra, a couple indulgences for your kids, it's a great way to save a couple extra dollars and do that," Spellmeyer said.
If we're talking about a few indulgences, Spellmeyer also previewed the newest addition of the American Girl doll, Saige, and a brand new S'more cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.
If you're not able to shop in Missouri this weekend, Iowa is also a state participating in the sales tax holiday weekend. Its holiday runs this Friday and Saturday and applies only to clothing and shoes up to $100.
The state of Illinois, however, is not on the list for a back to school sales tax holiday this year.
