There will be a change of venue for a northeast Missouri man facing a murder charge.
Glenn Head, 59, of Novelty, is charged with second degree murder armed criminal action in connection with the shooting death of 67-year-old William ??Bill?? Bacon in December.
The trial is to be moved from Knox County to Clark County and Head has entered a not guilty plea to the charges.
An initial report said that Head and Bacon had an ongoing dispute over whether a county road was opened or closed. A probable cause statement filed with the criminal charges said that Bacon contacted the Knox County Sheriff's Office to complain that someone was trespassing on his property.
Bacon died in the Northeast Regional Medical Center emergency room. The shooting occurred near County Road 312. A copy of the criminal complaint field said that Bacon was shot in the chest.
Court documents state that Head told former Knox County Sheriff Mike Kite and a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper at the scene that he had shot Bacon following an altercation.
Head remains free on a $250,000 property bond.
