Like Phoenix rising from the ashes, a Quincy business is ready to re-open after being closed most of the summer.
Celia's Gifts and More is celebrating it's re-opening Monday morning. It's hours are 9:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday and 9:30 to 4:00 on Saturdays.
Celia's and its neighbor, The Park Bench, have been staples in Quincy for 6 years, but for the last three months, both have been out of business.
"We were two doors down when the storm on June 26 hit Quincy and damaged our building and it was deemed unsafe for us to do business in there," said Sue Schmidt, co-owner of The Park Bench.
Both businesses have since relocated within Washington Square and are just now getting back to normal.
"This summer has been very overwhelming. It seems like all we've done is just move things from place to place. It's been a challenge, but now, we're settled and ready for business," said Celia Neff, owner of Celia's.
Celia's reopened its doors to the public Monday for a grand re-opening.
"We have lot of new inventory. The place is like new. We have new lighting, displays and carpeting," said Neff. "We also have a new entrance now into the Park Bench, so you can come and eat lunch and then come and shop."
"It's been very heart-warming to know that people have missed us all summer. Everywhere we go, people stop us and ask when we're opening. So I think we're going to be very busy next week when we open. Everybody's really looking forward to it," said Schmidt.
Another shop will take over the old Park Bench site in the coming months, a maternity store that we're told will include baby furniture.
