Carthage man arrested for meth possession

Hamilton Police Chief Nick Jamerson reports an arrest of a Carthage, IL man.

On Tuesday night, a suspicious person was reported in the 1800 block of Keokuk Street.

David M. Omiatek II, 19, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and several drug paraphernalia items.

Omiatek was arrested and charged with possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver.

He is being held in the Hancock County Jail awaiting a court appearance.

Possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver is a class 2 felony, punishable by 3 to 7 years in prison.
