      Car catches fire after close call on Missouri roadway

      A Macomb driver was taken to the hospital after his car caught fire in Missouri.

      The State Highway Patrol says Matthew Evans, 20, was driving on U.S. 136 in Putnam County Tuesday morning.

      He swerved to miss a deer and traveled off the road.

      When his car came to a stop in a small creek, its wheels caught fire.

      Evans was taken to the Putnam County Hospital with minor injuries.
