Cape Air and Quincy Regional Airport have announced that the last three flights for Tuesday are canceled due to expected severe weather.
All commercial travel after the 10:40 a.m. departure for outbound travel and after the 12:45 p.m. arrival for inbound travel will be canceled.
According to Airport Manager Jarred Hester, the early notification will allow travelers to make other arrangements or postpone travel plans until after the weather event.
"Although we never want to see a canceled flight, the travel safety of our passengers is the greatest concern," Hester wrote in a press release.
The terminal will remain open for inbound travelers until all passengers and staff have safely departed the building, Hester said.
The team at Quincy Regional Airport will continue to keep the airfield open for General Aviation users.
