Portions of Canton, Mo. are under a 48-hour boil order due to Friday night's fire downtown.
Director pf Public Works George Hausdorf says the firefighting efforts to contain the fire caused the water pressure to drop significantly in the city's water main supply lines, below 20 psi.
Residents and businesses east of 14th Street should boil their water for about 5 minutes before use until Monday at 1 p.m. This is a precautionary measure. The order does not mean the water is not safe.
