      Canton calls water conservation emergency

Once the main is repaired and water service is restored, the emergency will remain active until 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 2.

The City of Canton called a water conservation emergency on Sunday.

According to a press release from the City, a transmission main between Canton's water treatment plant and the water towers ruptured around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The water main has been turned off as city crews work to repair the issue.

Once the main is repaired and water service is restored, the emergency will remain active until 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 2.

Canton residents are being asked to use water sparingly until then.

After the main is repaired, a boil order will take effect for all residents west of 12th Street and from McRoberts Road north to the water treatment plant until Monday at 10 p.m.
