Camp Point Village trustees vote on potential sale of K-9 officer
CAMP POINT —
Camp Point's attorney releases a statement surrounding the future of the village's K-9 Officer.
After speaking with Camp Point Attorney Barney Bier Thursday, he says the village's trustees have agreed to sell the K-9 to potential buyers.
Bier's comments come following last night's special meeting for Camp Point trustees.
The trustees discussed a report that included law enforcement’s evaluation surrounding K-9 Officer Poseidon’s capability.
Trustees next passed an on ordinance authorizing the potential sale of the dog.
Below is the full statement and ordinance regarding Camp Point K-9 Officer Poseidon.

Bier told KHQA Thursday Poseidon is now in very good care but his whereabouts are not being made public to protect the animal's safety.
KHQA reached out to former Police Chief Steve Patterson who wanted to keep the dog after he resigned earlier this month, but have yet to hear back from him.
