Camp Point schools locked down, parents notified

Camp Point schools were locked down Friday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. and parents were alerted because a person in the area was deemed dangerous to himself.

Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer said the subject was suicidal.

According to WTAD, Central School District Superintendent Marty Cook said the schools were locked down as part of procedure.

Cook said that at approximately 2:30 p.m. the sheriff's department reported they had the man in custody.

Students will be released as normal.
