Brokes Appears In Court; Deemed Fit For Trial

According to Marion County Prosecuting Attorney David Clayton, Timothy Brokes appeared in court Monday morning for a pretrial hearing.

A man accused of killing two and wounding an officer during a January 2016 crime spree appeared in Marion County Monday.

According to Marion County Prosecuting Attorney David Clayton, Timothy Brokes appeared in court Monday morning for a pretrial hearing.

Brokes has now been deemed legally competent to proceed after a mental exam was complete.

After a January crime spree, Brokes was arrested on January 12th in Monroe City.

Brokes faces charges of 1st degree assault, armed criminal action, assault of law enforcement and 1st degree murder in Marion and Monroe counties.

A hearing on motions by the defense to suppress evidence and statements is scheduled for September 21st at 8 am.

No start date has been scheduled for the jury trial.
