The weekend is almost upon us and we couldn't help but remark about all the fun events coming to the Tri-States!
We thought we'd share some of the bigger events to get you started.
Hot Air Balloons
The 27th Annual Macomb Balloon Rally kicks off Friday night and continues into Saturday at Vince Grady Field on the campus of Western Illinois University. Balloons will be flown Friday night, Saturday morning and Saturday night and a balloon glow will take place at approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday night. Wear green for Cerebral Palsy
Pay a visit to Keokuk Friday night at 5 p.m. for the Cerebral Palsy Awareness Night game at the High School aptly named, Chiefs Sportin to Cure CP. The Chiefs play Mediapolis and there will be green shirts and wrist bands for sale along with a live band, balloon launch, and 50/50 drawing. Funds raised will go to Lets Cure CP, a non-for-profit organization devoted to finding a cure. Several kids with CP are honorary captains and will go out for the coin toss and the crowd will go wild!
The Tri-State Rodeo is back in Fort Madison, Iowa on Friday and Saturday nights. Little Big Town plays Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Rodney Atkins plays Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Here's their website if you're interested!
The 13th Annual Quincy Classic Boat and Outboard Show comes to Quincy on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Expect to see classic boats from the 40s, 50s and 60s at the Quincy Boat Club. For more information, click here.
Help New Canton, Illinois celebrate their 175th birthday at the New Canton Harvest Festival this weekend. Festival-goers can expect to see a petting zoo, games and the 3rd Annual Car Show along with lots of food and entertainment. The parade is Saturday at 1 p.m., but the Pepsi Kiddies Parade is at 11:15 a.m. Saturday. For all the details, visit their website here.
In other birthday news, Wyaconda, Missouri is celebrating 125 years with a time capsule opening, a parade and food and entertainment this weekend. Events begin Saturday at 9 a.m. Click here for more information.
