Barry teen pleads guilty to beating; sentencing set for January

The teenager arrested for a baseball bat beating in Barry will be sentenced January 3, 2014.

17-year-old Levi Niffen plead guilty to two counts in Pike County on Thursday.

Niffen plead guilty to aggravated battery with great bodily harm, a class 3 felony and criminal damage to property, a class 4 felony. A duplicate charge of aggravated battery was dropped.

The court ordered Niffen to undergo a psychiatric examination and ordered him to stay away from the victim's family.

Niffen remains in jail under a five hundred thousand dollar bond. The incident occurred Oct. 6, 2013.
