Backhoe joyride ends in drug arrest

A Quincy man is behind bars after a slow-moving joyride around 2 a.m. Sunday.
William Patrick Minor, 49, was discovered going northbound on 4th Street in Quincy on a 2000 Case backhoe. According to police, the backhoe did not have the proper slow-moving vehicle emblem on it and Minor failed to signal a turn.
A traffic stop was then conducted at 9th and College where police said Minor did not have a valid driver's license.
Police say that Minor resisted arrest and once in custody was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Also according to the police, during the search of the backhoe, officers located items used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Minor faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, resisting obstructing a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, no valid drivers license, failure to signal, slow moving vehicle emblem and was lodged in the Adams County Jail.
