Avenues finds more support through Community Caps Program

Your yellow Pepsi caps can help one Northeast Missouri organization, that has been a part of the area for more than 30 years, keep its doors open.

AVENUES Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocacy services will receive funds raised through the Refreshment Services Pepsi Community Caps program.

Abel's Quick Shop gas stations around the area are collecting the caps for AVENUES. This is the second year AVENUES has received caps money from Abel's Quick Shop.

Sarah Conner with Avenue said they raised around 500 dollars last year. Conner said the money raised will go into an AVENUES general fund.

This fund helps the people who use this shelter with transportation, food and clothing.

Abel's vice president Randy Anderson said they chose to support AVENUES because it is a needed service in a community.

He hopes this program raises several hundred dollars for the program.

If you want to chip in, remember to bring your yellow Pepsi Caps to the Abel's Shell station and drop them in the bucket.

The program goes until the end of April.
