Animal cruelty investigation taking place in Lee County
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is now investigating a case of animal cruelty that was recently posted online during a Facebook Live session.
That's according to the Lee County Attorney's office.
On May 11th, several, what appear to be juveniles, posted a Facebook live video of the group torturing an opossum. The video shows the animal being swung by the tail, repeatedly hit with some sort of bat and also smashed with a large rock.
Currently Lee County Attorney Clinton Boddicker is waiting on the results of the DNR investigation before he decides if any charges will be filed.
KHQA has chosen not to link the video to this story due to its graphic nature.
