A Quincy man accused in a July boat theft had a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Casey Mayes, 22, of Quincy, has been held on a $20,000 bond since his arrest by Quincy police last month on theft and criminal damage charges.
In his preliminary hearing he pleaded not guilty. Mayes will have a jury trial on October 14.
According to police, a boat was reported stolen from the Art Keller Marina on Sunday, July 20 around 6 a.m.
Authorities found the boat less than three hours later trapped against the Quincy Memorial Bridge near the Missouri side.
The boat had been damaged and was towed back to the marina.
The Missouri State Police Water Patrol Division assisted in the investigation.
